Hunger And Hope

Today, bloggers have been asked to unite in an effort to raise awareness about hunger and offer hope in finding a solution.

Here are the facts:

• In 2007, 3.4% of all U.S. households (3.9 million households) accessed emergency food from a food pantry one or more times. (source Feeding America)
• More than 840 million people in the world are malnourished — 799 million of them live in the developing world. (source CARE)
• One third of the world's hungry people are South Asian. One quarter are from sub-Saharan Africa. The next largest populations are in East and Southeast Asia and in Latin America. (source The Hunger Project)
