
The Chronicle of Philanthropy is reporting that charities have raised $64 million for their work in Japan. The American Red Cross has raised the most ($47 million) and Save the Children has raised the second most ($4.6 million).
In contrast, charities had raised >$210 million 6 days after Haiti and $457 million 6 days after Katrina. In Ken Berger's NBC interview, he discusses some of the reasons why giving to this disaster lags behind others.
