Donations by Politicians (Continued)

Yesterday, Rick Santorum released his tax returns which give us a picture of his charitable giving over the past 4 years. Those documents show that he and his wife gave between $13,000 and $30,000 to charity each year. That amounts to 1.76% (in 2010) to 2.67% (in 2009) of their Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). Their tax returns did not disclose the names of the charities that they supported.

Read our previous blog posts to see how Santorum’s giving compares to President Obama’s giving and the other GOP candidates’ giving.

I don't track politics much, but when it came to my taxes, I began to pay mind, and didn't really follow what either section sought or didn't want. This page sure cleared it up for me and allowed me to get details to do my proper examination. I'm not just an informed citizen now, but I'm also an educated taxpayer.
